Hi there! I am so happy you found my blog! I am a 27 year old gal living in the south with far too many hobbies and absolutely no intention of narrowing them down anytime soon. With that, please feel free to snag a few away from me if you want while I collect some more!
I have always loved to be creative and crafty which led me to get a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture degree a little while ago. I do get to use this degree in my professional life, but it is also super fun to explore design and creativity in my personal life! I have been crafting and knitting since before I can remember, and just recently picked up crochet. I love so many medias from beads, paint, watercolor, clay, yarn, wood, sparkles (aka rhinestones), and so many more.
I also super duper love nature! Anything outside is calling my name. I am fascinated by plants, animals, bugs, water, rocks, dirt, the clouds, pinecones, and more. Literally everything on this earth is very wowza to me and I have always been very connected with the elements. I try find adventures where I can and typically always come back with a less than typical story to share.
You can always find me happily in a kitchen, as well. I love love love to bake and cook and have been in the kitchen with my mom and grandmothers since I could hold a wooden spoon! Working with food is really special to me because it is so sentimental and a way to show people my love and care. I am interested in so many styles, methods, and regions of foods and recipes. I also collect a lot of cook books that sometimes collect dust, BUT I love to get inspiration and learn about different techniques.
I have recently been on a sourdough adventure (not for the weak let me tell you). I was so determined to create my own starter from scratch, and I eventually did! But it took about a year due to temperature changes, ratio mastery, and getting a handle on my procrastination / forgetfulness… oopsies. Nonetheless Chris the starter was born! He is such a glamorous son and I cannot wait to share with you all the things he continues to create, with my creative direction of course.
I am sure there is so much more that we will explore here, but for now this is a good start. I have always wanted to share what I love with the world, but never really knew how. I’ve never been much of a writer, so please do not Oxford check me because I already know there will be soooo many mistakes. Anyway, life isn’t perfect and neither am I, but that’s what makes it fun right? I hope you can leave here inspired to try something new, laugh at your mistakes, and maybe discover a new hobby along the way. Let’s have fun while doing the things we love!
Thanks for tuning in,,
xoxo The Dysfunctional Woman
